Dental assistants greatly enhance the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of oral health care. The program offers a balance of academic, laboratory, and clinical experiences to prepare the student to work in this rapidly changing field. Dental Assistants provide instrument transfer during dental treatment, take radiographs (x-rays), prepare dental materials, casts, and impression trays. They educate patients in dental health care, maintain patient records, and sterilize dental instruments. Class includes 90 hours of theory and lab. Students not living in a career tech district must pay twice the fee listed for this course. Register online. A detailed student application packet, which includes instructions/forms and financial assistance information will be emailed. A completed application packet and $100 non-refundable deposit is due to maintain your pre-enrollment status.
