Designed for students who are interested in caring for the elderly, this course includes communication and interpersonal skills, infection control, resident rights, basic restorative care, personal care skills, basic nursing skills, care of cognitively impaired including Alzheimer's Disease training, body mechanics, and basic emergency care. Included in the course is 4 hours of CPR training for BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible for certification as a Long-Term Care Nurse Aide. Includes 84 hours of classroom and skills training, 16 hours of clinical training and 4 hours of CPR training. Clinical hours to be scheduled by instructor. Need copy of valid U.S. Government Photo ID and original Social Security card before testing. Student must have a current TB screen test before attending clinicals and pass a drug screen to maintain enrollment.
