Clinical medical assistants combine clinical and procedural knowledge, working across the domain of healthcare facilities to aid inpatient treatments and clinical operations. They are tasked with working directly with patients and supporting the work of doctors and other healthcare professionals. Students in the CCMA course are required to complete coursework through our online learning management system and in-person classwork on Tuesday and Thursdays to apply knowledge to hands-on procedures. Students will complete a 10-hour clinical rotation during the class. Students will complete and prepared to sit for the NHA Clinical Medical Assistant test the last week of class.
Students planning to enroll in the Clinical Medical Assistant must show proof of completion in Phlebotomy or proof of current enrollment in a Phlebotomy, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy and Physiology. Students must show proof of a High School Diploma or GED. Students must show proof or be enrolled in a BLS CPR course.
